In the middle of a pandemic, it is concerning to hear some banks may be seeking to redraw reimbursement code set up to protect victims of fraud. Victims of fraud should not be made to feel like criminals by banks. ‬

Speaking to The Times, Rushanara Ali MP, a member of the Treasury select committee, said: “I am shocked to hear that in the middle of a pandemic some banks may be plotting to redraw part of the reimbursement code to the detriment of the consumer. Victims of fraud are all too frequently made to feel like criminals by banks, and this must stop.”
