16 year olds to be given right to vote through election reforms

We’ve announced changes to modernise UK democracy to:

• Give 16 and 17 year olds the vote for the next general election.
• Extend voter ID to include bank cards – removing barriers to the ballot box.
• Bring in tougher rules to protect against foreign interference.
