Rushanara Ali MP attends the Palestinian Statehood ceremony

An honour to join the Ambassador to the UK for the State of Palestine, Husam Zomlot, along with fellow Parliamentarians to a special ceremony to mark the UK government’s recognition of Palestinian statehood.

The Palestinian people have an inalienable right to their own state. The UK Labour Government’s decision to officially recognise the State of Palestine is a huge and historic moment, which so many of us have long campaigned for.

The UK government with the international community must continue to work for an immediate ceasefire, a surge in humanitarian aid, the release of all hostages and a pathway to a lasting peace.
