I welcome the Labour Government’s £2.5 billion investment to get more young people into work. The New Deal for young people will help unlock 200,000 new jobs and apprenticeships:
– £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant for employers, for every 18-24 year old they hire.
– £2,000 bonus for SMEs taking on a young apprentice.
– Expansion of the Jobs Guarantee across Great Britain to a wider age range (18-24) creating an extra 35,000 subsidised jobs.
Today, I asked the Secretary of State to ensure the Government tackles the Access to Work back long so that disabled young people get the right support into employment.
