As the Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Group on Burma, I spoke at a Westminster Hall debate in Parliament on the UK’s role in supporting and defending human rights in Burma.
My speech covered the need for targeted sanctions on the military junta and its enterprises, the need for the UK to mobilise international partners into action and the need for us to stand firm with the heroic and courageous people of Burma who continue to resist the brutal military regime.
